NORWAY I thought I'd share with you some of my Norwegian skills: Hi - Hei Yes - Ja No - Nei Thank you - Tusen takk Cheers - Skol That's it! I was there for only 2 days so what do you expect. Contributed by Eddie Stubbing - 16 September 2007. BERGEN The city is really beautiful. Take the Floibanen (funicular) up the mountain for a stunning view of the city and the fjord! I loved the Fish Market in Bergen too (the atmosphere, not the smells!). Contributed by Vladimir - 10 September 2007 . BERGEN The obvious and in my opinion best thing to see when you are in Bergen is the Bryggen, the old Hanseatic buildings on the wharf. There is a neat museum there too where you'll learn about the history of these mediaevil warehouses. Contributed by Bjorn from Sweden - 2 September 2007 . FREDRIKSTAD This often overlooked Norwegian pearl has a beautiful Old Town (Gamlebyen). They told us it is the oldest fortified town in Scandinavia. If I had the money I would buy a house there (yes people still live there!). Fredrikstad is just an hour and half south of Oslo. Contributed by Michael Stadtmeier - 13 October 2007. OSLO This city is really dirty compared to other places in Scandinavia. But I went there to see the Viking Ship Museum. It was definately worth it. Stay away from the area around the train station. The people are really friendly though! Contributed by Jerry - 20 October 2007 . TRONDHEIM Just come here and visit me, OK?. ;). It is a really nice city! Contributed by Jonas - 12 October 2007. |
